
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 16, 2014) – Police arrested a 41-year old man who shot and killed his father-in-law following an argument in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said.
Officials said Marvin Resurreccion was nabbed by policemen who quickly responded to the shooting in Cabaluay village that killed Mauricio Barcelona, 70.
Resurreccion confronted his father-in-law after Roy Sabado, the gunman’s brother, told him that he had a heated argument with the old man. Resurreccion shot Barcelona who was then talking to Sabado.
Prior to the murder, police said both brothers were drinking with friends.
Officials said the gun, a 9mm pistol, used in the killing of Barcelona was also recovered by policemen. Police are preparing charges against Resurreccion. (Mindanao Examiner)
