
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 26, 2013) – Police arrested two gunmen who allegedly shot and wounded a civilian in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, officials said Thursday.
Officials said the two men – German Sahibo, 25, and Abdulbasit Caril, 46, – were implicated in the shooting of the 30-year old Asgar Alhamid, a native of Cotabato City.
Alhamid was shot outside the El Rheko’s Pizza parlor along Urro Street in San Jose District. The victim was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound in the chest.
Police forces led by Superintendent Glenn Dulawan captured the two gunmen, who are residents of Mampang village in Zamboanga City, during a pursuit operation.
Dulawan said they recovered a 9mm pistol from Sahibo and a .45-caliber pistol from Caril. Police are investigating both men. It was not immediately known if the duo was also involved in other shootings and killings in Pagadian City.
Police are also checking the background of the two men in Zamboanga City to determine if they have criminal records or involved in the spate of murders there. (Mindanao Examiner)
