ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 19, 2013) – A lineman working for the Zamboanga Del Sur Electric Cooperative died after being electrocuted in an accident in the southern Philippine town of Guipos, police said Thursday.

It said Erwin Ernal, a native of Margosatubig town, died instantly from electric shock at Purok Aquino in Balongating village where he and his partner, Ricky Lazaraga, were installing electric cable from a pole.

Lazaraga told investigators that Ernal was tapping into the electrical source when his elbow touched the main line and electrocuted. His body was brought to the morgue and claimed by his family. (Mindanao Examiner)
