
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 16, 2013) – A teacher who was accused of poisoning two animals of his relative was shot and killed by his nephew during a heated argument in Dinas town in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said Cayetano Igano, 46, died instantly from the shooting which occurred in the village of Legarda. His nephew accused him of poisoning their two piglets and this led to the argument, according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Huesca, citing a police report, said Igano was shot three times with a .45-caliber pistol after he alleged uttered words that further angered his 22-year old nephew, who fled after the shooting.
He said police are searching for the gunman. (Mindanao Examiner)
