ZAMBOANGA CITY – A college dean jumped to his death on Monday in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said.
Police said Dr. Constancio Teofilo, of the Zamboanga State College Marine Science and Technology, was found dead in front of the faculty building. Teofilo’s colleagues said he arrived unusually early and went straight up to the 3rd floor of the faculty building and jumped to his death.
He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival due to a severe head injury.
It was not immediately known what drove Teofilo to kill himself. His family did not release any statement, but Teofilo’s colleagues described him as friendly and a religious man. (Ely Dumaboc)
