The group came from Aliguay Island where they had a photo shoot and was returning to Dapitan when the boat, owned by a local tourism officer Apple Marie Agulong, capsized, according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
Among in the group is Aquino were Agulong and Estephanie Apolinario, a regional tourism officer. The boat’s skipper was Anaclito Galleposo.
Huesca said the boat was battered by huge waves and strong winds. “While navigating back to the mainland at more or less one kilometer away from Barangay Aliguay, the motorized boat accidentally capsized due to the strong wind and big waves.
