ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Oct. 30, 2013) – A huge fire on Wednesday razed over two dozen structures in Isabela City in Basilan province in the Muslim autonomous region in Mindanao, police said.
The fire broke out in Kaum Purnah in Zone 1 just near the local market and police headquarters, but there were no reports of casualty; however a fire fighter, Rolando Lim, was rushed to hospital after he suffered cardiac arrest, according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
He said Lim’s condition is still unknown.
Huesca said an investigation into the conflagration was launched by authorities to determine the cause of the fire. (Mindanao Examiner)
