ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – A 45-year old father was shot and killed by his teenage son following an attack on the boy inside their house in Buug town in the southern Filipino province of Zamboanga Sibugay, police said on Tuesday.
Police said the 16-year old student grabbed his father’s homemade shot gun and fired once at him killing him instantly. The father beat his son during dinner and attacked the teenager earlier on.
The boy, who is studying in Zamboanga City, went home on January 12, but his father, a rubber tapper, berated him for a still unknown reason and attacked him physically. The father also threatened to kill his son.
The teenager surrendered peacefully to the police hours later and told investigators what had happened. (Mindanao Examiner)
