KIDAPAWAN CITY – Three police officers were killed instantly after their motorcycle collided with an ambulance before dawn Saturday in Kidapawan City in North Cotabato province in southern Philippines.
The trio had been identified as Andy Balungayan, James Bangayan and Arjay Cuibal, who were all members of the Special Action Force assigned in the province. The victims were travelling to Cotabato City when the accident occurred.
The ambulance driver, Jofel Mangibunong, is being held by the police. His companion, John Revilla, was injured from the collision.
There was no immediate statement from the Special Action Force on the death of the officers. (Rhoderick Beñez)
