
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 3, 2013) – Police arrested three people who were behind a stoning of provincial bus in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said Tuesday.
Officials said the trio – Benjie Carangi, 20; Arnel Persivirancia, 18; and Jun-Jun Persivirancia, 20 – were nabbed after they hurled stones on a bus owned by Rural Transit Mindanao.
The stoning broke the windshield of the bus, but none of the passengers were injured or hurt in the attack.
The bus was travelling to Cagayan de Oro City when the attack occurred on the Zamboanga highway in the village of Vitali.
Police said the trio is facing charges for the stoning.
The bus firm, as well as motorists, have been complaining about stoning incidents in Zamboanga. (Mindanao Examiner)
