
MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 25, 2013) – The Department of Budget and Management has posted on its website a list of where lawmakers – congressmen and senators – spent their pork barrel fund.
The report – which is accessible on this URL http://www.pdaf.dbm.gov.ph – included all projects where legislators channelled their controversial Priority Development Assistance Fund – P70 million for members of Congress and P200 million for senators annually.
House Deputy Minority Leader Arnel Ty also urged Filipinos to visit the website and read the reports on how lawmakers spent their PDAF.
“Citizens who want to obtain details as to how members of Congress have been spending their Priority Development Assistance Fund allocations may visit the Department of Budget and Management website, he said. “Actually, the particulars of all congressional PDAF releases have been available online for all to see.”
Ty said the report included the nature of the project, its recipient, implementing unit, the release date and the exact amount disbursed.
DBM records show that in 2012, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate received a total of P24.237 billion in PDAF releases.
This year, members of Congress have so far received a total of P11.584 billion in pork barrel funds.
