COTABATO CITY – A septuagenarian woman was brutally killed by her own son inside their house in Parang town in Maguindanao province in southern Philippines, police said on Thursday.
Police said the Estrella Borres was stabbed many times and that his 34-year old son was eventually arrested in the village of Sarmiento. The assailant, Romanito Borres, was believed suffering from a mental illness, but police were still investigating the murder.
It was unknown whether the woman was alone in the house when the killing occurred. The family did not give any statement on the killing. (Rhoderick Beñez)
