
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Al Jacinto / July 13, 2013) – Police are searching for a village official who shot and killed a civilian in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said Saturday.
Officials said Wilfredo Prieto, 58, was allegedly shot late Friday by village councilman Wilfrido Sabillano, 59, in the village of Lumbangan.
“Investigation disclosed that the victim was talking with Alfredo Wee Sit at a store when the suspect arrived and shot the victim twice. The suspect escaped after the incident,” said Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman.
The motive of the attack is still unknown, but police are investigating the murder. (Mindanao Examiner)
