ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / June 18, 2013) – An employee of a fishing company was shot and killed by a lone gunman in an attack Tuesday at a coastal village in Zamboanga city in southern Philippines, police said.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman, said Noel Macaso did not reach the hospital alive after he was shot in the village of Recodo.
Macaso was working for the Bigfish Company as a leadman.
Huesca said the victim was shot several times with a .45-caliber pistol by the assailant whom police initially identified by his first name as Rene.
The attacker fled after the shooting and Huesca said the killing was likely connected to Macaso’s job. He said policemen were searching for the gunman. (Mindanao Examiner)
