Ambushers kill 4 in mayor’s group in Lanao del Norte

COTABATO CITY – At least four people were killed Sunday when gunmen ambushed a pickup truck carrying Mayor Mohammad Lacson Lantud of Lanao del Norte’s Pantao Ragat town.

The politician survived the attack, but four of his companions were reported killed in the daring attack in the village of Cabasagan. Lantud was on his way to a water project in the village when gunmen ambushed his vehicle.

Police and military authorities did not release any statement on the attack and the motive of the ambushers were still unknown. (Mindanao Examiner)
