
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / May 4, 2013) – Motorcycle gunmen are terrorizing Pagadian City in southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur shooting houses of village officials for a still unknown reasons.
Police confirmed the attacks and reported three cases involving two village chieftains and a son of another official and although no one was killed or wounded in the shootings, the raid left a trail of terror and horrifying ordeal to their victims.
Two masked gunmen riding tandem of a motorcycle fired upon the house of Macasing village chieftain Florencio Clemen. His van was also shot at by the gunmen who fled after the attack.
The house of Rogelio Diano, Jr, whose father is the village leader of Lumad, was also attacked by motorcycle gunmen, and so was the house of Buenavista village chieftain Ricardo Alajeño.
Police said it recovered bullet casings fired from a .45-caliber pistol in all of the attacks, but it was not immediately known if the raids were carried out by the same group or whether politics had anything to do with the shootings.
Officials said investigations are going on to determine who were behind and the motive of the attacks. (Mindanao Examiner)
