ZAMBOANGA CITY – Motorcycle gunmen shot and wounded a local trader in an attack on a village in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, police said Sunday.
Police said Dan Jalon Francisco, 55, was rushed to hospital from two gunshot wounds after being shot at Blue Homes in Lower Cabatangan on December 27.
The assailants fled after the shooting, police said, adding an investigation is going on to determine the motive of the attack and the identities of the criminals.
No individual claimed responsibility for the shooting, but gun attacks are not uncommon in Zamboanga City where hired killers are actively operating. (Mindanao Examiner)
