DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 24, 2013) – Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a young man in a cemetery in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte province, officials said.
Officials said the cadaver belonged to Jeymar Sagan, 20, who was last seen entering the cemetery over the weekend. The body had gunshot and stab wounds when it was discovered by civilians.
Initial reports said Sagan was shot and repeatedly stabbed in the chest and that policemen also recovered a .45-caliber bullet casing, a piece of aluminium foil and a plastic sachet believed used as drug wrapper.
It was unknown whether the killing had anything to do with illegal drugs. Police said it is still investigating the killing. (Mindanao Examiner)
