DIPOLOG CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 14, 2013) – Unidentified gunmen killed a farmer and seriously wounded his companion in an attack Sunday in Zamboanga del Norte’s Godod town, police said.
It said the assailants, armed with M16 automatic rifles and pistols, opened fire on Jun Baldecasa killing him instantly, and Bobong Baldecasa, who was wounded in the attack in the village of Banuangan.
The gunmen fled after the shooting. The motive of the attack is still unknown, but police said it recovered 16 empty shells of M16 and a .45-caliber pistol.
Police said it is investigating the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the shootings. (Mindanao Examiner)
