MAGUINDANAO (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 3, 2013) – A decorated army commander, Brigadier General Romeo Gapuz, has been named as the new chief of the 6thInfantry Division in the southern Philippines.
Gapuz, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 81, served as deputy commander of the 4th Infantry Division in Northern Mindanao, replaced Major General Caesar Ronnie Ordoyo, of Class 80, is named new commander of the Southern Luzon Command in Lucena City.
Gapuz vowed to continue the success of the previous leadership and said he will be resilient to learn the dynamics in his mission of confidence-building measures with the rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front which is currently negotiating peace with Manila.
