37 MisOr drug surrenderers complete rehab program

Desk Editor May 22, 2019

At least 37 graduates received their certificate of community program completion in a ceremony held for moderate surrenderers as they underwent the 180-day Community-based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP).

However, they are still required to undergo an aftercare program that will be headed by the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO) of Sugbongcogon town, Misamis Oriental., authorities said

The planned activities for the aftercare program include a monthly meeting, and livelihood projects and skill training.

In a message, Department of the Interior and Local (DILG) Region 10 Director Arnel M. Agabe said that the CBRP is an opportunity to change life.

He also shared the factors for the successful implementation of the said program which include: the continued support of the barangay officials in monitoring their areas, care and support from family members, and the respondents helping themselves from being drug-dependent again.

According to Municipal Mayor Mildred Lagbas-Mondigo, this is just a beginning of a new life. She also urged for full support to this program

Held at the Temple of God in Poblacion, Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental, the activity was witnessed by representatives from the national agencies—Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Health (DOH), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.(By Elaine O. Ratunil)
