DEPARRMENT OF JUSTICE (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra ordered on Friday the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to investigate the murder of lawyer Anthony Trinidad, who was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen last Tuesday in Sitio Looc, Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
“(There are) no other specific instructions except to get the killers,” Guevarra said in a message to newsmen of his directive to the NBI.
Trinidad was on his way home from a court hearing to San Carlos City when he was shot, police said.
Trinidad was declared dead on arrival at the Guihulngan District Hospital.
His wife, Novie Marie, survived the attack and was rushed for treatment in Dumaguete City, reports said.(By Benjamin Pulta)
