MANILA (Mindanao Examiner / Dec. 25, 2012) – The Philippines is bracing for a new storm and has raised warning in over two dozen areas in the country which are on the path of “Wukong”.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the following provinces are likely to be hit by the storm – Samar, Leyte, Cebu, Camotes Island, Dinagat Island, Siargao Island, Surigao, Masbate, Ticao Island, Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros, Siquijor, Agusan del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.

It also warned residents in mountain slopes and river banks and coastal areas to stay vigilant because of threats of landslides, flash floods and storm surges.

The Philippines has been devastated earlier this month by the typhoon Bopha which left over 1,000 people dead and hundreds more missing, mostly in the provinces of Compostela Valley and Davao. (Mindanao Examiner)
