
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 7, 2012) – the Intellectual Property Office – Philippines (IPOPHIL) is set to hold a two-day seminar-workshop on intellectual property in Zamboanga City.
The seminar on November 15 and 16 is free and intended to orient and equip applicants on matters related to the registration process as well as the protection of intellectual properties, to include copyright, patents, trademarks, and industrial design.
Inventors, researchers, small and medium enterprises, academicians as well as those in the tourism-related businesses such as hotels and restaurant managers are invited to attend the event.
The first day of the seminar will be held at the Department of Science and Technology and will cater to the local inventors and members of the academe who want to register their inventions, researches, theses, and scientific works under patents, utility model, or copyright with the IPOPHIL.
And the second day – at the National Economic and Business Assistance Center – will cater to the local small and medium enterprises that have applications-in-process on trademark and industrial design.
The seminar – in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Tourism – will include one-on-one consultations and mini-workshops to be facilitated by experts from IPOPHIL.
