
DAVAO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 4, 2012) – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said a moderate earthquake hit the southern Mindanao province of Davao del Sur on Sunday and there were no reports of either injuries or damage to small buildings.
It said the magnitude 5.2 quake jolted the town of Don Marcelino at around noontime and no tsunami alert was issued by the agency.
The quake was traced about 117 kilometers beneath the earth, about 47 kilometers in the town’s southeast district. Several tremors were also reported prior to the quake. (Mindanao Examiner)
