
ZAMBOANGA CITY – A fire broke out Monday afternoon in one of the building of the Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, school officials said.
Officials said the fire hit the laboratory department on the university, but there were no reports of injuries or casualties, however, the blaze damaged the building.
Fire fighters managed to put the fire under control and school officials suspended all classes in the university as the Bureau of Fire and Protection began its investigation.
The university is one of the most populous in southern Philippines with thousands of students from different provinces are enrolled. (Mindanao Examiner)
