ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 15, 2012) – A steel pole collapsed late Wednesday on a village in Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines, but authorities said there were no reports of injuries.
“It is just luck that no one was hurt when the light pole collapsed, but it was scary alright – imagine if there were children playing out there and you can imagine the damage this accident could bring,” villager Jessie San Jose told the Mindanao Examiner.
It was not immediately known why the pole collapsed, but its base had been damage by rust.
