MANILA – Alab ng Mamamahayag (ALAM) President Berteni Causing called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to do their work as a peacemaker. This after another ALAM member, Ebarvia Noel, 42, was killed in San Pablo City in Laguna province.

Reports said Ebarvia was shot by unidentified men at around 3 a.m. on Thursday 3:00 while working at the Dapp Videoke Bar.

Ebarvia is the fourth ALAM member killed, even before it was accredited as a partylist by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Causing said, murder and homicide cases in Laguna province have worsened because not only journalists fall victims to the rampage of criminals, but also innocent citizens.

He cited the San Pablo City and the entire province of Laguna which, according to reports, have several cases of crimes that are not resolved.

ALAM Chairman Jerry Yap said the Laguna police force should also be investigated. He said not only San Pablo City has many unresolved cases, but the whole province of Laguna.
