CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 28, 2012) – Mindanao motorcycle riders have banded to provide manpower in assisting relief efforts in the storm-ravaged cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.
The Speedometrix Moto Club Davao, Iligan Fury Club and Cotabato Rebel Riders launched recently a two-day “unity ride” dubbed as “Tabang Sendong Volunteers” and assisted in the repacking and distribution of relief goods in the villages of Manwang, Mahayahay and GreenVillage, Purok 2A, Katipunan Hinaplanon in Iligan City.
“Sendong” was the local codename for the deadly storm Washi that hit northern Mindanao last month and left hundreds of people dead.
Organizers said the unity ride was made possible through the support of Maguindanao Vice Governor Datu Samsudin Dimaukom, Superama Supermarket and Department Store, Gold Seeds Trading, Al-Nor Hotel and Convention Center, Raider’s Motor Parts and Car Accessories and Dr. Remus Magabilen.
