
Ronald Singson arrived in the Philippines on Saturday and went straight to Ilocos Sur province where his family and supporters welcomed him. Singson also attended a Catholic mass and thanked all those prayed for him.
Singson was arrested in Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok International Airport on July 11, 2010 after authorities founded cocaine from his possession and charged with drug trafficking.
He was sentenced to 18 months in prison but the court had shortened. Singson’s lawyer said the drugs were for personal use.
Singson’s father, Luis, who is the current provincial governor, said his son was only a victim of illegal drugs. (Mindanao Examiner)
