Death toll in Zamboanga bombing now 3

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Nov. 28, 2011) – Police said three people were killed and 28 others wounded in a deadly bomb explosion that ripped through a budget hotel in the southern Philippine port city of Zamboanga.
The blast late Sunday tore a huge hole at second floor of the two-storey Atilano Pension House in downtown Zamboanga. The powerful explosion also and damaged surrounding buildings and set off a fire at the pension house.
Two persons were instantly killed in the blast and investigators on Monday pulled a body of man under concrete slabs raising the death toll to three.
Police said they have traced evidence of TNT from one of the rooms of the pension house, but no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. “We have found traces of TNT which was probably used in the attack,” said one member of the local police bomb squad.
Most of the wounded were wedding guests Zamboanga del Sur province billeted at the hotel. (Mindanao Examiner)
