ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police arrested a prime suspect in the shooting of the Filipina wife of a Japanese national in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, officials said Thursday.
Officials said Daniel Lauhari was arrested in his mountain hideout in Abong-Abong village after his victim Jenaliz Niida, 30, pointed to him as the gunman. Niida, who is married to Kyoshi Niida, was heading home alone on a motorcycle taxi when she was shot in the face with a hand gun allegedly by Lauhari in the village of Guiwan on October 6.
Lauhari escaped on a motorcycle driven by another man after the attack. Police are still investigating the motive of the shooting. (Mindanao Examiner)
