ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 12, 2014) – A fisherman, who was abducted early this month in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, had been found dead, floating at sea with one leg chopped off and his head blown out, police said Tuesday.
Police said the decomposing body of Bong-Bong Sabado – recovered near Bolong village – had been identified by his wife Helen with the clothes he was wearing the day he disappeared. Sabado was seized by three men on a motorized boat on August 6 and left behind a ransom note.
Little was known about the victim except that he was originally from Quezon City who migrated to Zamboanga and married a local woman.
Police said it is investigating the death of Sabado. No individual claimed responsibility for the killing. (Mindanao Examiner)
