KIDAPAWAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 25, 2012) – The Cotabato Electric Cooperative which is serving Kidapawan City in the southern Philippines has been given provisional authority by the Energy Regulatory Commission so it can purchase at least 8 megawatts of electricity from Therma Marine Incorporated owned by Aboitiz Power.
Local residents continue to suffer long power outages lasting up to 8 hours every day.
Just like in Zamboanga City, the local power cooperative also purchased electricity from TMI to augment the electricity. From 10 hours blackout every day, Zamboanga still continues to suffer from long power outages despite the TMI deal. (With a report from Geonarri Solmerano)
