Abu Sayyaf nakipagmatigasan sa MNLF!

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Jan. 16, 2013) – Ibinasura ng Abu Sayyaf ang hiling ng Moro National Liberation Front na palayain ng rebeldeng grupo ang mga dayuhang bihag nila sa Mindanao, ayon sa militar ngayon.

Sinabi ng Western Mindanao Command na hindi pumayag ang Abu Sayyaf sa kabundukan ng Sulu na ibigay sa MNLF ang mga bihag, kabilang ang dalawang Pinoy, na ngayon ay hawak ng nasabing grupo kung walang kapalit na ransom.

“As far as we know, the Abu Sayyaf has rejected the MNLF efforts to secure the release of the hostages, not without ransoms,” ani Army Col. Rodrigo, ang spokesman ng Western Mindanao Command, sa panayam ng Mindanao Examiner.

Kamakailan lamang ay nagpakita ng puwersa ang MNLF sa pangunguna ni Habier Malik kasama ang halos 2,000 tauhan nito, upang hikayatin ang Abu Sayyaf na ilabas ang mga bihag, ngunit bigo ito.

Sinabi ni Rodrigo na bumalik na sa kanilang mga kampo ang MNLF matapos na mabigo sa kanilang misyon.  “The efforts of the MNLF to secure the freedom of the hostages are unilateral on their part and have the permission of the local government officials and military commanders on the ground. Pero yun efforts naman natin ay tuloy-tuloy upang mabawi natin ng ligtas ang mga hostages,” wika pa nito.

Ayon sa pulisya ay hawak ng Abu Sayyaf ang isang Japanese treasure hunter na si Toshio Ito, 66, mula pa nuong 2010 at ngayon ay nagsisilbing ‘cook’ sa mga rebelde.

Bihag rin nila si Jordanian journalist Baker Atyani, 43, at mga Pinoy assistants na sina Rolando Letrero, 22, at Ramelito Vela, 39.

Sinabi ni Senior Superintendent Antonio Freyra, ang Sulu police chief, na sikretong nagtungo ang tatlo sa kampo ng MNLF at Abu Sayyaf upang gumawa ng isang  documentary para sa Al Arabiya News Channel.

At bukod kay Atyani, bihag rin ng Abu Sayyaf sina wildlife photographers Ewold Horn, 52, mula Holland; at Lorenzo Vinciguerre, 47, ng Switzerland, na dinukot sa Tawi-Tawi nuong nakaraang Pebrero ng diumano’y miyembro ng MNLF.

“As long as the MNLF (members) don’t put the law in their own hands or violate the law in pursuance of their efforts, I don’t see any problem. We welcome all efforts in securing the safe release of the hostages,” sabi pa ni Freyra.

Nasa kamay pa rin ng mga kidnappers si Malaysian fish trader Pang Choon Pong, na binihag naman nuong Oktubre 2011 sa Tawi-Tawi, at nitong Nobyembre ay sinabi ng Malaysia na dalawang nationals nito ang dinukot mula sa isang palm oil plantation sa Sabah at posibleng nasa Mindanao na rin.

Nasa Abu Sayyaf rin si Australian adventurer, Warren Rodwell, na dinukot nuong Disye,bre 2011 sa kanyang bahay sa bayan ng Ipil sa Zamboanga Sibugay province na kung saan ay kasal ito sa isang Pinay na si Miraflor Gutang, 28.

Humihingi ang Abu Sayyaf ng $500,000 ransom kapalit ni Rodwell, ngunit hindi pa mabatid ang ransom demand ng mga ibang bihag. (Mindanao Examiner)
