PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 6, 2013) –An American national was found dead in Pagadian City in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga del Sur, police said Friday.
Police identified the foreigner as Angelo Edward Ronacri, 65. A gun was also recovered by the police tucked in Ronacri’s waist in the village of Makabibihag in Balangasan district.
It said a civilian discovered the body in a vacant lot and phoned the police about it.
Police are investigating Ronacri’s death, but an autopsy report said the American apparently died from a heart attack.
Local police chief Glenn Dulawan, in his report, said the victim was last seen leaving his home in Pagadian City on September 1 and had not returned since then.
It was unknown why the foreigner carried a gun or whether the US Embassy was informed about Ronacri’s death. No other details were made available by the police. (Mindanao Examiner)
