LEYTE – President Benigno Aquino said the government remains committed to work together with international partners, local non-government organizations and various stakeholders to build a better future for the families affected by super typhoon “Haiyan” and other calamities.

Aquino, who inspected bunkhouse units in Palo town, said the government is working closely with international partners to deliver relief assistance to more than 4 million people displaced by the typhoon.

The reconstruction assistance includes housing, infrastructure, facilities and utilities; employment opportunities; assistance with livelihood, especially with vulnerable workers in the agriculture and service sectors; and support for cross-cutting social and environmental objectives.
