MARAWI CITY – A total of 298 residents of Brgy. Lumbac Inudaran in Marantao received free medical care and community services on Nov. 29 through a joint outreach of the Army’s 103rd Infantry ‘Haribon’ Brigade and the Confederation of Royal Ladies of the Four Principalities of Lanao.

The activity included medical checkups for 146 patients, 35 dental consultations, 67 circumcision procedures, and 50 haircuts. Military medical personnel, volunteer doctors, nurses, and community workers took part in the service.
Dr. Raquelina A. Benito, Bae a Labi sa Ganassi, and president of the Confederation of Royal Ladies of the Four Principalities of Lanao, said the medical mission is part of the group’s advocacy to assist communities.
She added that during Ramadan, the group also supports orphanages.
“Kasama sa aming mga serbisyo ang general consultation na may libreng gamot, dental, at circumcision. Mayroon kaming mga espesyalistang doctor, internal medicine, pediatrician, at general practitioners para magbigay ng serbisyong pangkalusugan sa mga tao dito sa Marantao,” she said.
Benito said the Confederation, as the female counterpart of the sultanate, plays a role in community service. She said they plan to extend their outreach in the coming months to other areas within the four principalities, including Unayan, Ganassi, Masiu, and Baloi.
She also thanked the 103rd Brigade for sending its medical team to support the circumcision services.
BGen. Billy O. Dela Rosa, commander of the 103rd Infantry ‘Haribon’ Brigade, said the brigade is not just focused on keeping the province’s peace and security, but is involved in humanitarian services.
“Many areas in Lanao still lack basic services, which is why the brigade remains committed to helping communities through humanitarian initiatives,” Dela Rosa said.
Punong Barangay Sapina Solaiman Guro expressed appreciation to Benito and Dela Rosa. “Successful at mapayapa ang kanilang medical mission. Maraming salamat din sa lahat ng mga doktor at mga nurse na tumulong,” she said. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
