Atake sa mga journalists, tila walang humpay!

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Aug. 3, 2013) – Inaaraw-araw na ng mga kriminal ang pagpatay sa mga journalist sa bansa at ito ay ayon sa pahayag ni Alab ng Mamamahayag Chairman Jerry Yap.

Sinabi ni Yap sa Mindanao Examiner na habang hinihintay nilang ilabas ng Quezon City Police District ang mga suspek sa pamamaslang kamakailan kina tabloid columnist Richard Kho at Bonifacio Loreto at tuluyang kasuhan sa piskalya ang mga ito ay nadagdagan na naman ng isa pa matapos na mapaslang si news photographer Mario Sy sa General Santos City sa Mindanao.

“Napakahirap maging mamamahayag ngayon sa Pilipinas dahil bukod sa palaging nasa panganib ang buhay ay wala namang maaasahang proteksyon mula sa pamahalaan,” himutok pa ni Yap.

Pinatay si Sy, 53, sa harapan ng pamilya nito sa loob hg kanilang bahay matapos iutong pasukin ng isang armado.

“Mas lumalakas ang loob ng media killers ngayon,” ani Yap. “Pumapasok na sila sa bahay ng kanilang biktima – at nag-iisa pa. Wala nang discretion. Nakasisiguro kaming hindi pa ito ang huli.”

Dagdag ni Yap, hangga’t walang nasasampolan ang gobyerno na mapaparusahang media killers, hindi matitigil ang walang patumanggang pagpatay sa mga mamamahayag.

Si Sy ang ika-18 journalist na pinaslang sa ilalim ng pamahalaangf Aquino.
