OPERATIVES OF Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recovered PHP1-million worth of suspected shabu from eight suspects in three separate buy-bust operations in the past five days.
Col. Henry Biñas, city police director, said the accomplishments of the operating units show their commitment to make Bacolod a city free from drugs and crimes.
On Monday, three suspects were arrested by personnel of Police Station 3 around 1:30 a.m. at San Mateo in Barangay Banago.
The report said Ramel Mati-ong, 35; Medjor Dairo, 32; and Robert Losbañes, 25, were caught red-handed selling PHP500 in shabu to an undercover policeman. They also yielded 10 sachets of the prohibited substance with an estimated value of PHP500,000.
Last Sunday, two suspects, Jesus Noel Regalado, 50, and Rodolfo Gavieta, 39, were also arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit at RN2 Building on Rosario Street in Barangay 33.
During the operation around 10:30 p.m., a police poseur-buyer transacted for PHP500 worth of shabu with the suspects, who were also found in possession of nine more sachets valued at PHP275,000.
Last Thursday, three other suspects, who sold PHP500 in shabu to an undercover operative from Police Station 3, were arrested at Sitio Sibucao in Barangay Banago around 5:10 a.m.
Police identified them as Julie Rose Chiong, 30; Rodney Tiberio, 27; and Peter Ku, 39. Operatives also seized from the suspects seven sachets of the same prohibited substance with an estimated worth of PHP225,000.
All suspects are facing separate cases for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Section 26 (attempt or conspiracy) of Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.(By Nanette Guadalquive)
