Balaodnon nga Iskolar ng Bayan gilagdaan na ni Aquino

CEBU – Gilagdaan na ni Presidente Benigno Aquino ang balaodnon nga maghatag og scholarship benefits o libreng pagtuon sa kolehiyo sa mga estudyenteng malakip sa top ten sa ilang paglampos sa high school.

Ang Republic Act 10648, o ang Iskolar ng Bayan Act of 2014, gilagdaan niadtong Huwebes human usab kini aprobahi sa Senado ug sa Ubos Balay Balaoranan niadtong Setyembre 24.

Gihiusa sa maong balaodnon ang House Bill 4860 ug Senate Bill 2275 nga gipalabang sa 16th Congress ubos sa liderato nila Senate President Franklin Drilon ug Speaker Feliciano Belmonte.

Ubos sa maong balaod, tanang state universities and colleges (SUCs) gihatagan og mandato sa paghatag og automatic admission ug scholarship grants ngadto sa top 10 public high school students sa ilang graduating class.

Ang public high school nga adunay labaw sa 500 graduates hatagan og usa  ka additional scholarship slot sa SUCs sa matag 500 graduates.

Ang additional slots ihatag sa gradwado kansang ranggo misunod dayon sa top 10 students ug makahatag sa admission requirements alang sa freshmen sa SUCs nga ilang mapili.

Ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education ug SUCs ang mga ahensiya nga gitahasan sa paghatag og suporta niini. Gimanduan na ang CHED ug DepEd sa pagmugna og implementing rules and regulations alang niini sulod sa duha  ka buwan.

Gibanabanang naa sa 80,000 ka estudyante matag tuig ang makapahimos niining bag-ong balaod. (ECB)
