MARAWI CITY – The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) has started distributing food supplies to learners enrolled in Child Development Centers (CDCs) and Supervised Neighborhood Plays (SNPs) in various municipalities of Lanao del Sur.

Through the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), the MSSD’s Second District Provincial Field Office delivered food assistance to 33 CDCs and 86 SNPs located in Malabang, Picong, Pualas, and Ganassi.

A total of 1,080 sacks of 25-kilogram rice, 2,811 kilograms of dried anchovies (dilis), 33,732 eggs, 2,811 liters of cooking oil, 5,622 kilograms of all-purpose flour, and 5,622 kilograms of mung beans were distributed. The items were proportionally allocated to 2,811 young learners to support their daily nutritional requirements.

The MSSD’s First District Provincial Field Office is preparing for a similar rollout. Supplies for the first district are expected to arrive soon, with delivery tentatively scheduled for June.

“There are 11,200 learners from CDCs and SNPs in the first district who will benefit from this cycle,” said Rashida Macarik, SFP Project Development Officer for Lanao del Sur–First District.

Before distribution, the MSSD and SFP teams conducted standard quality and quantity inspections to ensure compliance with program guidelines.

This initiative is part of the 14th cycle of the Supplementary Feeding Program, a national government-funded effort implemented by the MSSD in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The program seeks to address the nutritional needs of children enrolled in early learning centers, particularly in areas with limited access to regular food support. (BIO/PIA10)
