MARAWI CITY – The Office of the Chief Minister’s Marawi Rehabilitation Program (OCM-MRP) launched a series of on-site medical missions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in temporary shelters across the city.
The first mission was conducted on May 20 at the Pantaon Shelter, followed by services at the Boganga Shelter for residents of Divisions 1, 4, and 5 on May 27. Another mission is scheduled for May 29 to serve Divisions 2 and 7.
The medical team is led by Dr. Norjanah Bobong-Yusoph (Pediatrician), Dr. Hanifah Dansal-Casanguan (General Physician), and Dr. Wardah M. Rapun (Internal Medicine Specialist). The team provides free consultations and basic medicines on-site.
Due to the ongoing missions, walk-in consultations at the MRP office in Barangay Panggao Saduc are temporarily suspended.
“This initiative is a blessing for people like us who have lost so much and cannot afford medical care. Your compassion gives us hope,” said Didato Daluma, an IDP from Barangay Tolali staying at Pantaon Shelter.
Norlailah Nolan Datumolok, MRP Information Officer, said that 2,689 IDPs have benefited from MRP’s free medical consultations since July 29, 2024.
The on-site missions align with the Bangsamoro Government’s 12-Point Priority Agenda for 2023–2025, which includes the rehabilitation and recovery of Marawi City and its displaced residents. (BIO/MRP)
