Bayan sa Cotabato niragasa ng ipo-ipo

COTABATO CITY – Pinagiingat ngayon ng pamahalaan ng bayan ng M’lang sa North Cotabato province ang mga residente sa tuwing may malakas na ulan matapos na hagupitin ng umano’y ipo-ipo ang maraming kabahayan doon.

NasA 15 bahay ang napaulat na nasira at maging grandstand ng M’lang Elementary School ay nasira rin at ilang puno rin ang natangay ng ipo-ipo kamakalawa ng hapon.

Kinumpirma rin ito ni Mayor Joselito Pinol at sinabing kasabay ng ipo-ipo ay malakas na ulan.

Ngunit posibleng sanhi lamang ng malakas na hangin at hindi ipo-ipo ang tumama sa nasabing bayan dahil kalimitan ay nagsisimula ang ipo-ipo o tornado sa wikang Ingles kung saan ang dalawang hangin na magkaiba ng temperatura at bilis ay magsalubong. At dahil diyan ay nabubuo ang ipo-ipo.

Subali’t may mga pagkakataon rin na nagkakasabay ang ulan at ipo-ipo na kung tawagin ng mga weather experts ay “rain-wrapped tornado”, ngunit kalimitan ay naiuugnay ito sa mga supercells na siyang puwersa ng isang bagyo.

Ayon kay Pinol, nagtagal ng 20 minuto ang ipo-ipo at nangako ito ng tulong sa mga nasalanta nito, partikular sa Barangay Buayan kung saan ito naganap. (Mindanao Examiner)
