
ZAMBOANGA CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Sept. 24, 2013) – Motorcycle gunmen shot and wounded a boat owner in an attack in Zamboanga City in southern Philippines, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca said Abdurahmin Usman, 45, was shot near Weebin Wharf in the village of Baliwasan. Usman was talking to his elder brother, Jalil Usman, when the one of the assailants shot him several times.
The duo fled after the shooting, allowing Usman’s brother and other people to rush the victim to hospital.
No individual or group claimed responsibility for the attack, but police said an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and the identities of the assailants.
Usman is a native of Cagayan de Tawi-Tawi in southern Philippines. (Mindanao Examiner)
