COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Mar. 13, 2012) – An improvised bomb exploded at a provincial bus depot in the southern Philippines and wounding one person, officials said Tuesday.
Officials said the bomb went off at around 4 p.m. on Monday in Tacurong City and wounded a man selling ice cream.
“The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. We still don’t know who was behind or the motive of the attack,” said Col. Prudencio Asto, a spokesman for the 6th Infantry Division.
He said a passenger bus, owned by Rural Transit of Mindanao, was slightly damaged from the explosion.
The bus firm has been receiving extortion demand from rebel groups and criminal gangs. (Mindanao Examiner)
