Go made this statement during Sunday’s 3rd founding anniversary of the Guardians Magistrate Advocators for Democracy International, Incorporated (GMADII) held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Crame, Quezon City. This, after he was about the GMADII, an accredited non-profit organization that is part of the Association of Chiefs of Police of the Philippines Incorporated (ACPIIAN).
Go said he is willing to partner with groups from different sectors for the benefit of the Filipino people.
In the event, Go mentioned that GMADII has projects that are beneficial to Filipinos and he is willing to back them and the group. “Kung may mga proyekto po sila na makakabuti naman po sa Pilipino, I’m very much willing to support the group, the Guardians po,” Go said, adding, in the span of time that GMADII has been in existence, the group has, so far, shown that it only has good intentions for Filipinos.
Go, a long-time ally of President Rodrigo Duterte, has been known to work with various groups from different sectors, especially when it comes to serving Filipinos in need. In his advocacy of visiting and aiding survivors of fires and different tragedies, Go has stated numerous times how friends and supporters have contributed to relief efforts and how he very much appreciates the help such individuals and organizations have provided. “Kaunting financial assistance mula sa pribadong kaibigan at grocery packs lang para mapabuti ang lagay ng mga naging biktima ng sunog,” Go said.
Despite his status as a former government official, Go has also been known to go out of his way to contact former colleagues in various government departments in order to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by fires and calamities.
Go has been involving various groups and agencies in providing aid to Filipinos. His initiatives have led to the creation of various programs under the ‘Malasakit’ brand which all aim to make it easier for Filipinos to get assistance from government.
An initiative of the Duterte administration, the Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop where satellite offices of DOH, PCSO, DSWD, PhilHealth, and other particular government agencies are housed together in one location to ease the process for patients applying for quick medical and financial assistance.
Go, who was involved in setting up the Malasakit Center program when he was serving as the top aide of Duterte, intends to push a law that would allow the establishment of more Malasakit Centers in provincial and urban areas of the country. Aside from the Malasakit Center, Bong Go has a legislative agenda which has programs for agriculture, housing, improved health service delivery, education, long-term sports development, fire protection and prevention, localized peace talks, anti-drugs and crime drive, anti-corruption drive, barangay welfare, the creation of a Department of OFWs, and improved benefits for senior citizens.
He made time as well to discredit reports that Duterte’s health is in bad shape.
Go ended his visit to the Guardians by assuring the attendees that he can be counted on for help and support for the betterment of the Filipino people. (Jun Ledesma)
