
PAGADIAN CITY (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 19, 2013) – An unidentified gunman shot dead a bus dispatcher in an attack late Friday in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur province in southern Philippines, police said.
Police identified the victim as Ruel Señora was buying bread at a bakery near the local market when a man, armed with an automatic pistol, shot him in the head and fled after the shooting.
Investigators said they were trying to gather witness to shed light on the identity of the attacker.
The motive of the killing is still unknown. It was not immediately known whether the killing had anything to do with family feud or grudge, but the spate of gun attacks in Pagadian is worrying traders and residents.
Locals wanted more police patrols and checkpoints in the city to ensure the safety of the public from harm, especially general elections are set next month.(Joenette Yankee)
