BASILAN (Mindanao Examiner / Apr. 24, 2013) – Two gunmen riding tandem on a motorcycle killed a pro-government militia in an attack Wednesday in Basilan province in the Muslim autonomous region in Mindanao, police said.
Police said Eddie Jikiri, a member of the army-led Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit assigned in Lantawan town, was travelling on a motorcycle along the village of Doña Ramona and heading to nearby Menzi village when gunmen attacked him.
It said Jikiri was shot several times and that police investigators recovered 5 bullet shells of .45-caliber pistol.
The motive of the attack was unknown, police said. (Mindanao Examiner)
