COTABATO CITY (Mindanao Examiner / July 7, 2014) – A car fell off in a ravine in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao killing one person and injuring three other passengers, reports said Monday.

It said the car was traveling in the village of Ladia in Sultan Kudarat town when it plunged into the cliff over the weekend. The passengers are all members of the Iglesia ni Cristo who were returning home from a religious gathering.

Radio station dzMM which quoted the town’s police chief, Senior Inspector Ismael Madin, identified the victims as Freddie Itak, the lone fatality; and his companions Jun Bikog, Jay Tubio and Ariel Rizaldo, the driver.

The wounded were rushed to hospital where doctors are still observing their condition. Reports said the car’s driver apparently lost control after he ploughed through the broken section of the road. (Mindanao Examiner)
